RELAX...You're in great hands!
Nearly 40% of the population feels nervous or
uncomfortable about going to the dentist or having dental procedures
done, so much so that they put up with the pain and embarrassment of
severely broken down teeth. Dr. Richard Boatman
understands the importance of helping patients feel relaxed and
comfortable during dental procedures.
Completing 70 hours of course work and 20 hours of
clinical, Dr. Richard Boatman received his certification in Oral and IV
Sedation Dentistry from Duquesne University in Pittsburg Pennsylvania.
Now patients can "be in a fog" through long overdue dental work in a safe
comfortable manner. For those patients with mild anxiety, an oral
sedative, nitrous oxide, may be all that is
needed to complete their dental work. The sedation fee is based on
an hourly rate which is due at the time of service. Extended
payment plans can be arranged with Capital One. If you feel that
sedation is necessary for your dental care, give us a call to learn more
about our sedation dentistry.
How You May Feel After Sedation
Most patients remember nothing about their treatment. A few will
remember a little, usually at the end of the appointment when we are
getting them ready to go home. You will need someone to bring you to our
office on the day of your sedation appointment and you MUST have someone
take you home afterwards.
Safety of Sedation
During IV sedation, we use monitoring equipment to monitor your pulse
and blood pressure. You'll be done before you know it, completely
unaware of the time passing, totally relaxed.
